There's a few different options out there, so why have we converted into blanket campers?
1) Sleeping bags are one-dimensional.
We love a good sleeping bag. We're fans of backpacking quilts too. They both serve a function and they often do it well. However the camping blankets we use can adapt comfortably in temperatures ranging from 30 to warmer. They aren't restricted by exclusive temperature ratings- bags too warm in the summer or too cold in the fall- they adapt with you. You can also use camping blankets in a bevy of scenarios: car camping, backpacking, hammock camping, and indoors.
2) The majority of campers are three-season campers.
Studies show the majority of campers aren't setting up their tents in the snow and ice. The majority of us are three-season recreational campers. If you're camping in the traditional three camping seasons, then blanket camping offers the solution with the most mobility and comfort. One can sleep like they're using a comforter on their bed, or tighten/loosen the blanket at their needs unlike a bag or quilt.
3) Less restrictions.
Traditional sleeping options can restrict our adventures because of temperature range, mobility, pack size, cost, and required purchase of accompanying equipment like sleeping pads. The blankets we've created and used in the past don't have any of these restrictions.
4) The chart to the right.
The chart to the right sums up all the reasons we became blanket campers. There are so many benefits to blanket camping, and we will continue to share these as we create loyal fans. One day we hope to see blankets side by side with sleeping bags in your retail stores so the benefits can be compared, but for now we'll stick with the happy customer reviews!
