As a promotional video for a Swedish sock company stuntman Adrian Cenni took to the air. When we heard he was snowboarding in the clouds we didn't exactly see this one coming. Ridiculous, but awesome. Great footage plus good music has all the makings for a viral video in the making. Well worthy of this week's Thrill Thursday.

Sooner or later someone was going to do it. Leave it to the Red Bull team to outfit their athletes in five wingsuits and give NYC a go. They've hit all sorts of locations in the past couple years and normally we prefer seeing them flying between mountains and river gorges, but this one does not lack in views. Although not as technical as many of their runs, this is a coveted stunt and the landing makes it just that bit more entertaining. End the journey with a barge riding down the Hudson River- They had the full city tour planned out nicely.

We’ll be sure to give it a look, and of course give credit where it’s due! If you prefer to spend your free time outdoors rather than stuck in a cubicle, there's a good chance the opportunity to ride whitewater rapids has presented itself. We own kayaks and enjoy making the occasional river journey around our region. We've also enlisted some guidance for more intense Class IV and V rapids in the past. Neither would deem us even close to qualified to take on the Stikine (Canada, US). When 35 people riding the river in one year produces the tag "Year of the Stikine" for heavy traffic, you know it's not for everyone. As presented in this video the Stikine is often considered the Everest of whitewater. It can be compared to Devil's Canyon of the Susitna (AK) or Turnback Canyon on the Alesk (Canada, US). Pro Kayaker Rafa Ortiz gives you the opportunity to experience the Class V+ river, and the deadly challenges it presents. The Stikine valley looks like amazing terrain, but not one which we want this view from quite yet. Watch the video and experience the Stikine for yourself. Father Nature Outdoors

There's something about avalanches that fascinate us here at FNO. It's partially the immensity and sheer magnitude of the snowpack barreling down the mountain, and its partially the jolt of mortality that such a sight puts in your bones. Thanks to GoPros we now have first hand views of these encounters and we can sit peacefully at our computers grateful that it's not us wearing the camera. Love the outdoors, love the mountains, love the snow.. but never want to see an avalanche from this angle. Pretty amazing everyone involved here came out A-okay.

Staring down a chute in Alaska's Tordrillo Mountains in South Central AK, you can hear Townsend beforehand with a quick "Ooh I'm getting nervous". I think we would be too skiing a crack in the rock face at 30+ mph. If claustrophobia seems to get to you, Townsend's GoPro footage provides just the experience you were looking for. Townsend's "Line of the Year" makes the perfect entry for this week's Thrill Thursday. Father Nature Outdoors
